About
Dilara Anıl is a multidisciplinary artist based in Istanbul, who explores the intersection of traditional techniques and contemporary aesthetics. Her work, which is based on textile, weaving, and painting, reinterprets cultural heritage with a modern perspective. Rather than applying traditional techniques exactly as they are, she transforms them into new forms of artistic expression. In each of her works, she blends traditional techniques with a personal perspective and innovative approach, merging handcraft with modern aesthetics. She views fiber arts and handcraft not only as a method of production but also as a way of thinking and establishing her relationship with art. In contrast to the soulless nature of mass production, she prioritizes the authenticity and organic quality of handmade work. By blending the past and the present, she continues to shape her unique artistic identity. She expresses herself as an artist who merges the traditional and the modern.
